Program Information
The SNAP Training & Employment Program (STEP) at WorkSource Oregon is designed to assist individuals receiving SNAP benefits to obtain skills, training, work experience, and employment to increase their ability to obtain living-wage employment.

How to Participate
Connect with a STEP Career Coach for an initial informational appointment
Create short term employment and/or training goals 
Document the goals on an Opportunity Plan
Check in with your Career Coach twice per month to:
  • Discuss progress on goals
  • Create new goals/next steps
  • Document goals on an Opportunity Plan
  • Update your Career Coach on your status
  • Provide hire info when you get hired
  • Request Support Services

  • Training funds to increase your employability
  • Transportation help (CET pass or gas card)
  • Driver License/State ID fee assistance
  • Data/Internet bill assistance
  • Interview clothes/shoes

OCDC has many programs, and they work together to help young children and their families grow, learn, and succeed. Many of our services support migrant and seasonal farm workers and their young children.
​Other programs are open to families living at or below the federal poverty level. Our child care and early education programs serve infants through five year olds, and our parent programs are open to all parents that have children enrolled in our programs.
